Yannis Davy Guibinga (b. 1995, Libreville, Gabon) is a photographer based in Montréal, Canada, whose work seeks to reshape narratives around Africa and its diaspora. Using portraiture as a tool, Guibinga celebrates and documents the diversity of African identities, exploring how culture, gender, and socioeconomic factors intersect to shape individual experience. His photography highlights a new generation of Africans confidently embracing their identities, creating images that are powerful, dignified, and visually striking. Guibinga has collaborated with clients including Apple, Nikon, Adobe, and Squarespace, and his work has been exhibited internationally in countries such as England, South Africa, Nigeria, France, Russia, Qatar, and Switzerland. Featured on platforms like CNN Africa, Document Journal, I-D, and Harper’s Bazaar Russia. His photographs have also been acquired for permanent collections, including the Wedge Collection in Toronto.
