Valerie Prosper Imparato (b. 1989, Port au Prince, Haiti) is a textile artist, illustrator, and muralist whose work reflects the diverse cultural influences of her global upbringing, with an emphasis on East African and Caribbean art. Her bold, colorful practice highlights underrepresented communities, including Black women, immigrants, and mothers. Imparato’s murals can be seen at Tufts University Africana Center and Harvard University’s Smith Center, while her canvas and embroidery work was recently exhibited at the Somerville Media Center.
