Biography

Segun Fagorusi (b. 1990, Lagos, Nigeria) is a talented artist known for his strong draftsmanship and inventive use of color. He earned a degree in Fine and Applied Arts from Obafemi Awolowo University (2012) and a master’s in African Visual Arts from the University of Ibadan (2017). His work highlights the challenges and overlooked struggles within Nigerian society, focusing recently on the living conditions and mental health of the elderly abandoned in villages or marginalized spaces. Working primarily in oil, chalk pastel, and acrylic, Fagorusi uses art to document and reflect on the economic, political, and socio-cultural realities of his environment, examining human actions and their consequences.
