Kossi Assou

Kossi Assou (b. 1958, Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire) is a Togolese artist and designer whose multidisciplinary practice spans sculpture, installation, painting, mural art, and furniture design. Positioned at the intersection of materiality and abstraction, his work draws deeply on African traditions, rituals, and daily life, creating pieces that bridge past, present, individual, and collective experience. As both an artist and a Vodun priest, Assou’s creations are informed by ancestral knowledge and spiritual practice, infusing his work with cultural and symbolic resonance.
