Claudia Apaid

New York • USA • Born 1977

Biography

Claudia Apaid (b. 1977, New York, USA) is a Haitian American multidisciplinary artist whose work integrates textile art, mixed media, and spiritual practice. Drawing on nature, culture, and energy, she transforms fabric, sequins, crystals, and other materials into luminous, tactile works imbued with symbolic meaning and healing intention. Her practice explores the intersection of the physical and spiritual, with forms inspired by flowers, butterflies, and the unseen currents of life. Apaid’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, collected privately, and featured in publications and public art projects. In 2022, she created Haiti’s National Costume for the Miss Universe pageant and launched a limited-edition line of wearable art clutches. Based in Miami, she continues to investigate the hidden patterns and connections that inform her artistic vision.
