Allison Christian

Allison Christian (b. 1991, Lagos State, Nigeria) is a Nigerian hyperrealist artist whose work captures the stories, cultures, and beliefs of Africa and its people. Originally trained as a mechanical engineer, he left the oil industry to pursue his passion for art. Working primarily with pastels on canvas, Allison creates strikingly realistic portraits that explore light, geometry, and emotion while preserving African heritage and challenging stereotypes. Influenced by the photorealism movement of the 1960s and 1970s, he infuses each piece with personal and cultural meaning. His work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Nigeria National Gallery in Lagos, the Brick Lane Gallery in London, the Hector Diaz Gallery in Mexico, and the Afrikin Foundation in Miami.
