A Reflection on 2024 and the Journey Ahead: A Message from Alfonso Brooks, Founder of AfriKin
Dear AfriKin Family,
We closed the chapter of 2024 and entered the horizon of 2025, and today my heart overflows with gratitude. What a year 2024 was—one of growth, renewal, and deep personal reflection. I want to take a moment to extend my sincerest thanks to each of you for your unwavering support, your belief in the mission of AfriKin, and your commitment to walking this transformative journey with us. You have been integral to the successes we’ve celebrated, the challenges we’ve overcome, and the growth that has blossomed in ways we couldn’t have anticipated.
2024 was a year that taught me much about myself and the space I occupy in this world. It was a year of shedding, of releasing, of moving more quietly. I had to return to a way of being that, at one point, was discouraged—silence. Many had told me that my quietness was not a form for a business leader like myself. But in the stillness, I found strength. I embraced silence as a necessary part of my personal journey, a space where I could commune with God, reflect on the past, and listen for guidance on what comes next.
I know that some may have noticed my absence, and my quietude, and may have wondered. Please, do not take it personally. I was simply following the call to be more attuned to the Divine, to move not according to the demands of the world, but in the rhythm that my soul required. In this stillness, I found clarity, and it became clear to me that my most productive self is one that moves in silence. The noise, the distractions, and the expectations of others were no longer serving me—and perhaps, they were not serving you either.
To those I have distanced myself from this year, know that it is for your benefit as much as for mine. There is so much more ahead for each of you, and I celebrate your growth from afar, knowing that your light will shine brighter as you continue your own journeys. You do not need my presence to fulfill your purpose; you are more than capable of becoming the person you were always meant to be. Go bask in the glory of the Divine, and be the best version of yourself. I see greatness in you, and I will continue to hold space in my heart for you, even from a distance.
2024 was not a year of loss in the conventional sense. It was a year of releasing attachments that no longer served us. Sometimes, we hold onto things—people, habits, expectations—out of fear, nostalgia, or uncertainty. But a full cup cannot receive anything new, and I believe that much of what we thought we had “lost” in 2024 was, in fact, making room for something far greater. The glass may have shattered, and the cup may have broken, but that was not the end. It was simply the space needed for what was to come. Let go of any negative emotions tied to what you think you have lost. Trust that the universe, in all its wisdom, has removed what would have hindered your growth. Be patient, be observant, and know that what is ahead is worth the quiet work of transformation.
As we look ahead to 2025, we do so with gratitude for the past and anticipation for the future. AfriKin will continue to evolve, and we have a range of exciting events and initiatives planned to connect, engage, and celebrate our shared vision. We look forward to welcoming you to these experiences and to continuing this journey together. But as we step into this new year, I ask you to remember one thing: Do not be distracted by temporary positions or the opinions of others. Stay true to your calling, and remember that the battle is not yours—it is the Lord’s.
So, let us move forward in 2025 with peace and love, guided by our faith and trust in what is to come. Let the challenges of the past year be the stepping stones that lead us to higher ground. We have seen, we have observed, and now we trust that it is God who will lead us to the victory.
I am deeply grateful for each of you and for the opportunity to continue this work with such a passionate and committed community. Let 2025 be a year of gratitude, of quiet reflection, and of unwavering faith.
Peace, love, and abundance to you all.
